"A Piece" Cake

Beth and Lydia (my oldest sister and my niece) came over to my mom's house and we all made "A Piece" cake under Beth's supervision. "A Piece" cakes are an old family recipe and for some reason they only really turn out when Beth makes them. So Lydia, my mom, the kids and I all made a batch while Beth watched. And sure enough, not all of them turned out. They were good, but we will need to keep trying.

My mom made another batch this week and she says that they were really good. Maybe soon I will try again and follow the recipe that she used (a little different from the one that we made this day.) They are so yummy, kind of like a coffee cake. Here are the photos from our day.

Oh, and it was my mom's birthday!! Happy Birthday Mother.
